Georgia has introduced a visa-free regime for Russia's North Caucasus republics, Trend reports, citing the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The new visa regime involves Chechnya, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia and Adygeya. The regime will last for 90 days and will come into force on October 11, 2010.
The Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the decision is due to the opening of a control post in Lars. Russian citizens had difficulties because they had to got to Moscow to get a visa.
