A working meeting of senior officers of Azerbaijan and Pakistan was held today in Baku.
Addressing the event, the head of the International Military Cooperation Department, Major General Huseyn Mahmudov, noted the existence of traditional cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan on issues of mutual interest, the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.
"Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence. Pakistan continued to support Azerbaijan in the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.The Republic of Azerbaijan, in its turn, supports Pakistan's stance in the settlement of the Kashmir problem," Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
Director General of Pakistan's Foreign Military Cooperation of the Joint Staff Headquarters, Major General Iftikhar Vayna, also touched upon the subject of Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations.
