The Vatican refuses to serve a public prayer in Yerevan

Turkey has won another diplomatic victory over Armenia, Haberler.com reports.

Due to the active negotiations of Turkish diplomats with representatives of the Vatican, Pope Francis has refused the request of representatives of the Armenian Gregorian Church to serve a prayer service in Yerevan to commemorate victims of tArmenian genocide on April 24, ANS reports.

The agreement was reached at the end of meetings with the Turkish Ambassador to the Vatican, Mehmet Pachachi, who also managed to avoid the need for prayer on April 24 at the Vatican.

Meanwhile, the Vatican will hold a prayer service on April 12, during which the Pope also will not mention the events of 1915 in the Ottoman Empire.
