The diaspora organizations of Azerbaijan and Turkey held a protest action in Brussels in connection with March 31 - Azerbaijani Remembrance Day.
The main objective of the protest was to inform the world community about the objection of the Azerbaijani and Turkish communities in Europe to the acts of terrorism and genocide committed against the Azerbaijani and Turkish people at various stages of history, the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan and the Khojaly genocide, APA cited the State Committee for Work with Diaspora.
The protesters gathered outside the European Parliament on Luxembourg Square, then they marched through the central streets of Brussels toward the Armenian embassy. More than 400 representatives of the Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas attended the two-hour protest.
The statement adopted on behalf of the protesters was read out outside the Armenian embassy. The statement expressed protest against the recognition of the 1915 events as Armenian genocide.
The protesters asked the world community to support a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and to make efforts to put an end to the aggressive and terrorist policy of Armenia.
