Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said, marking the 24th anniversary on the referendum on the independence of Georgia, that 90.5% of voters took part in the referendum, 98.93% of them voting for the independence of Georgia, News Georgia reports.In the prime minister’s words, the referendum was a demonstration of the nation’s steadfast will. He added that Georgia was a free and democratic state striving for admission to the European family. Garibashvili expressed confidence that the course towards Europe would be a success.
