Istanbul branch of Turkey's ruling party attacked

An armed man broke into a building in Istanbul's Kartal district, where Istanbul's branch of the Turkish ruling Justice and Development Party is located, DHA agency reports.


The gendarmerie representatives managed to disarm the attacker. He has not been identified yet, Trend reports.


As Vestnik Kavkaza reported, yesterday armed men took a prosecutor hostage in the Palace of Justice in Istanbul. They demanded the arrest of the police officers responsible for the death of 15-year-old Berkin Elvan during the street protests in 2013. Prosecutor Selim Kiraz was wounded by five bullets during special operations to free him and died in a hospital.
