The Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Taner Yildiz, said that the massive power outage on Tuesday cost the country about $700 million, Hurriyet Daily News reports.


According to the Ministry of Health of Turkey, tragic incidents in hospitals were avoided by the use of generators.


The government of Turkey is looking into several possible reasons for the global accident: a fault in the power system, financial relations with Europe on energy issues or a terrorist attack.
