The Cypriot parliament has passed a resolution criminalizing denial of the Armenian genocide. According to the current laws, denials of genocide, military crimes and crimes against humanity are punishable only after a ruling of the international court. Chairman of the Cypriot Parliament Yiannakis Omirou said that it was a historic day, allowing the restoration of truth, TASS reports.
