Iran's success in the negotiations of the P5+1 group would not taken place without Russia, the deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Andrey Klimov said.
"It would be impossible without Russia, as it is namely Russia which guarantees that Tehran will not be deceived," RIA Novosti cited him.
Klimov said that it is the presence of Russia that allowed Iran “to go until the end” in the difficult history of the negotiations on the nuclear issue.
"Now Iran relies on Russian diplomatic possibilities very seriously, and 'exact point interaction' between our countries can be noted at different levels, including parliamentary," Klimov noted.
“The representatives of Iran have the highest degree of confidence namely in Russia, and when Moscow agrees on the Iranian issue with the European states and the United States, it differs from the West's position on Iran very much,” Klimov stressed.
The senator also said that Russia will develop military-technical cooperation with Tehran after the lifting of sanctions against Iran. “Iran needs it, it is not a safe zone there, given Yemen and IS, and someone's significant superiority of forces surely provokes aggression,” Andrey Klimov noted.
