Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan has demanded Israel to pay compensations and make official appologies for the murder of 9 Turkish activists on Freedom Flotilla humanitarian vessel, Trend reports, citing agency dpa.
Freedom Flotilla was attempting to break the blockade of Gaza. It had humanitarian aid and human rights activists. Israeli naval forces intercepted the ship on the night of May 31. 9 Turks were killed, tens were wounded, hundreds were later arrested and deported. 7 Israeli commandos were injured.
UN formed an independent commission to investigate the case.
