A tree with campaign promises given to Bidzina Ivanishvili

Georgia's United National Movement organized a protest rally today in Tbilisi near the residence of the ex-Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili, expressing their dissatisfaction with the government's failure to fulfil its campaign promises.

The UNM activists attached colorful leaflets to trees at the entrance to Ivanishvili's residence with slogans of the promises that he gave during the parliamentary elections of 2012, for example, "Employment to everyone!", "100 new plants", "Zero credit", "Pension of 250 GEL," "Assistance in mortgage", and others.

"Not a single word is made up. Everything comes from the broken promises which Ivanishvili gave in 2012," says George Oniani, one of the activists, a former policeman and now a lawyer.

In addition, Oniani explains that this is one of the permanent actions that were discussed at a UNM meeting on March 21. They are expected to "create discomfort in the government and require the implementation of these promises to the population."
