Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said that the security of the Persian Gulf countries and the protection of Bab-el-Mandeb are national security priorities of Egypt.
"Egypt will not abandon any of their brotherly Arab countries, not just the Gulf countries [Persian Gulf - VK], the safety of which is considered to be a red line, and an integral part of the national security of Egypt and all Arab states," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
"Ensuring the safety of navigation in Red Sea and the protection of Bab-el-Mandeb is considered to be the highest priority of the national security of Egypt," the president said.
