Putin to launch 'Memory Watch'

Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the opening of the nationwide 'Memory Watch - 2015' in the city of Staraya Russa in the Novgorod region, the Kremlin press service said.


'Memory Watch' has been held for several years, but in the year of the 70th anniversary of the victory this event is being emphasized. Search expeditions, solemn meetings, the reburial of the soldiers found by search engines, patriotic actions related to the perpetuation of the memory of the fallen defenders of the Fatherland will be organized in the framework of the event.


'The Memory Watch' this year will be attended by search associations representatives of 74 regions of the country.


The Starorussky District each year receives about 30 search teams from Kirovsk, Tyumen, Irkutsk, Vologda, Nizhny Novgorod, the Moscow region and other regions of Russia.
