Dagestani flag raised at North Pole

 

Sultan Khamzayev, a member of the Russian Public Chamber, the head of the Federal Project ‘Sober Russia’, and Vyacheslav Bocharov, a Hero of Russia, have raised the flag of Dagestan at the North Pole given by the republic’s mission at the Russian president’s office, SKFO.ru reports.The flag has a slogan “Dagestan in the close-knit family of peoples of Russia!” The campaign was organized to encourage patriotism and emphasize the importance of state symbols in forming national identity.Khamzayev and Bocharov reached the North Pole within the framework of the ‘Arctica-2015’ Expedition.
