The Istanbul prosecutor's office has demanded 1.5 to 4.5 years in jail for Hikmet Cetinkaya and Ceyda Karan for publishing a cartoon depicting Prophet Muhammad, which was released by French magazine Charlie Hebdo in January.
The office prepared the 38-page indictment against the columnists from the Turkish daily Cumhuriyet for "insulting religious values" and "instigating people to hatred and enmity".
