Alexander Turchynov, the head of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, has presented the national security strategy until 2020. One of the main provisions of the document states that NATO membership is the only guarantee of territorial integrity for Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.
The main objectives in the strategy, according to Turchynov, are restoration of territorial integrity, renewal of peaceful development and integration into the EU.
The threats mentioned in the document include corruption, economic crisis, falling standards of living, threats to anthropogenic and information security.
Turchynov noted plans for formation of a mixed-type army in the medium term.
