The next stage of the hearings into Jokhar Tsarnaev’s case, during which he will be sentenced, will be held on April 21 - three days after the 2015 Boston Marathon, the internet portal of the US newspaper the Boston Globe reports.
During this phase, the jury that previously recognized Tsarnaev as guilty on all 30 counts will have to decide whether the defendant should be sentenced to death or to life imprisonment.
Recall that Jokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev were accused of committing a terrorist attack during the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013. Three people died, more than 260 were injured. Jokhar was subsequently arrested and Tamerlan died in detention a few days after the attack.
