Russia will not gain reconciliation at G7 without settlement of Ukrainian crisis

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has warned that Moscow will not be admitted back to the G7 until the Ukrainian crisis is settled. Responding to the diplomat, the Spokesman of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, noted that the organization was pointless without Russia, China and India. He added that the developments in Ukraine had unmasked the international diplomacy, the system of international relations and the international law.

Andrey Klimov, deputy head of the Federation Council Committee for International Affairs, noted that the G7 was not on the international spotlight, especially since the G20 had been formed. He reminded that there were also such formats as BRICS and SCO, which, in his opinion, will expand. Overall, the official sees no need in reviving the G8.
