Iran has decided to appoint its first female ambassador. She will be Marzieh Afkham, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, the Mehr news agency reports today.
She was the first Iranian woman to take this post in 2013. It is not yet clear where Afkham will be sent or who will replace her in her post at the Foreign Ministry.
