The Defense Minister of Iran, Major-General Hossein Dehghan, will visit Azerbaijan on April 20-21. The details of his visit and prospects of military cooperation have been discussed by the Defense Minister of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov, and the Ambassador of Iran to Baku, Mohsen Pakayin, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
Hasanov noted the significant role of bilateral meetings in the development of Azerbaijani and Iranian relations. Concerning the military and political situation in the region, Hasanov reminded about Armenia’s occupation of Azerbaijani territories and procrastination on peace talks.
The Iranian diplomat reassured Azerbaijan that Tehran was committed to supporting Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and its position in the Karabakh process.
