Maria Zakharova, deputy head of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in an interview with the Guardian that skipping the May 9 celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory in Moscow was a shame for Europeans, RIA Novosti reports.
In her opinion, Europeans forgot the losses of the Soviet Army in WWII as a result of anti-Russian propaganda. In particular, Zakharova blamed Washington for forgetting over half a million people injured and missing in the war.
