Turkish FM: resolution of European Parliament unilaterally evaluates the events of 1915

The European Parliament's resolution, calling on Turkey to recognize the 'Armenian genocide', has the potential to harm relations between Ankara and Brussels, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.


"The one-sided approach of the European Parliament with regards to the 1915 events has the potential to harm relations between Turkey and the EU, and falls far behind reaching a solution to the issue between Turkey and Armenia," RIA Novosti cited the document.The Turkish Foreign Ministry has accused the European Parliament of obstructing the development of relations between Turkey and the EU and seeking "once again to rewrite history regarding the 1915 events."According to the statement, "this aspiration has resulted in the preposterous text of the resolution dated April 15, 2015, which literally repeats the anti-Turkish cliches of the Armenian propaganda."

Ankara "does not take seriously those who adopted this resolution," the document says.
