Italy, the USA, Germany, Turkey and Russia were the five main trading partners of Azerbaijan in the first quarter of 2015. The main supplier of goods to the country in March of this year was the United States. Italy once again received the status of the main trading partner, ahead of the Americans in this category.
On 1 April 2015 the five major trading partners of Azerbaijan looked like this: In first place, with a total turnover of 806.108 million dollars (imports from Azerbaijan 773.632 million, exports 112.476 million), is Italy. In second place with 688,779 million dollars (199,831 million and 488,948 million respectively) is the USA, Germany is in third position with 614.327 million (444,015 million and 170,252 million). Turkey with 397.878 million (74.890 million and 322.988 million) and Russia with 396.060 million (61.122 million and 334.938 million).
The sixth-largest trading partner of Azerbaijan, with a mutual turnover of 305.895 million (imports from Azerbaijan 242.067 million and exports 63.828 million) was France. Next is Austria (200.338 million - 163.006 million, 37.332 million, respectively). Then Israel follows (182.702 million, 177.936 million, 4.766 million), Indonesia (171.344 million, 161.133 million, 10.211 million) and the Czech Republic (151.858 million, 145.804 million, 6.054 million).
From January to March, "non-aligned countries" (countries outside the EU and the CIS) again lost their status as the main trading partners of Azerbaijan. These countries formed foreign trade turnover (5.812 billion) at 44.16%, or 2.567 billion, of which the EU countries take 46.4% (2.697 billion.). The CIS had 9.44%, or $0.548 billion, abc.az reports referring to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
