Lukoil’s President Vagit Alekperov said his company wants to return to Iran’s Anaran oil project, which the company had abandoned due to the sanctions against Iran.
"Before the restrictions came into force, we were actively working on geological prospecting in Iran and opened the Anaran oilfield. Unfortunately, we were forced to leave it after the restrictions came into force. But we hope that the current political dialogues will open up investment opportunities on Iranian territory in the medium term," Interfax cited him as saying.
"We understand this project," Alekperov added.
