Georgian Prime Irakli Garibashvili has announced that hepatitis C medications will become free. The first portion of medications will arrive in a few days to treat patients with the most complicated hepatitis cases, Georgia Online reports.


The government has developed an action plan to reduce the number of people with hepatitis C and the mortality rate and improve preventive measures. Garibashvili thanked the Healthcare Minister of Georgia, David Sergeyenko, and his executives for the efforts in combating the illness.
