Azerbaijani candidates get free airtime

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan has decided to provide parliamentary candidates with free air time, a CEC reports said on Friday, Trend reports.

During  the campaign period, for those nominees who are registered in the electoral districts of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, free airtime will be provided on the channel NaxTV, and for the candidates for the remaining 118 constituencies - on public television. A joint roundtable on TV will be organized for all the candidates. Each candidate will have four minutes in the roundtable discussions.

Campaign materials in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will be placed in the newspaper Şərq Qapisi . For the candidates of the remaining constituencies - the newspaper Azerbaijan.

Elections to the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Republic of Azerbaijan are scheduled for the 7th of November, 2010.
