Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Yerevan to attend the commemoration events for the Armenian Genocide victims in the Ottoman Empire in 1915.
Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov said he also plans two separate meetings with the Armenian and French presidents during the visit. The meeting with the French leader is likely to center round the Ukraine crisis and the problem over the Mistral helicopter-carrier contract with France.
"As far as we know, the memorial ceremonies will be attended by the representatives of more than 20 countries, including the presidents of France, Cyprus and Serbia, who will make an address at the memorial ceremony," RIA Novosti cites him as saying.
