Armenian opposition holds rally in Yerevan

The united opposition held a rally yesterday in central Yerevan, News Armenia reports.

The rally started with the speech of the ex-President of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrossian, in which he accused the current government of corruption. Petrossian believes that the only way to combat corruption is a change of power. Only after a change will it be possible to return the national wealth to the people by legal means, and to propose that the oligarchs conduct their business in a legal framework.

The Armenian National Congress, headed by Levon Ter-Petrossian, was established on the 1st of August 2008. The ANC unites about 20 political parties and organizations. The main demands of the ANC are the release of political prisoners, restoration of the constitutional rights of citizens and early elections.
