According to Marat Sarsembayev, member of the Central Electoral Commission of Kazakhstan, 90% of the population have voted in the election of the President of Kazakhstan. The turnout at the early presidential elections in Kazakhstan by 6.00 p.m. local time was 89.69%.
In most regions, the presence exceeded the level of 90%. The leading region is Akmola with 94.81% of voters, then the East Kazakhstan region (89.45%), and then a few areas where the presence exceeded 87% (Kyzylorda, Atyrau, South Kazakhstan). In Astana about 88.29% of voters turned out, in Alma-Ata it was 73.17%. The results of some large-scale cites and also the Aktobe region are not so high, only 85.05%, RIA Novosti reports.
We should remember that the previous presidential elections took place in April of 2011. By 6.00 p.m. local time the presence then was 84%.
