President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, said that Europe is not enthusiastic about deploying a peacekeeping contingent in conflict-hit Ukraine, but is ready to enhance the OSCE monitoring mission.

But sentiments can of course change," he said, adding that the implementation of the Minsk Accords is currently the political priority for Europe."I realize that not everyone is satisfied with the Accords, and they are not the best solution for Ukraine, but undoubtedly the most important aim for us is the real possibility of a peace settlement and establishment of truth. I do realize why effective monitoring is important not only for Ukraine but for Europe as well. And Europe is ready to enhance the OSCE mission and to make its work more effective," TASS cited him as saying.According to Tusk, "decisions concerning special peacekeeping missions or groups from Europe are impossible at the moment."
