CIS Observers: no serious violations in Kazakhstan’s presidential elections

The mission head and chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, Sergei Lebedev, said that the elections in Kazakhstan were conducted in accordance with local laws.

“I'd like to say that we saw no serious violations which could affect the election results. There were only minor organizational shortcomings," Interfax cited him as saying.

"The elections were open, transparent, open and in full compliance with the law," Lebedev said.
