Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received his Latvian ex-President Vaira Vike-Freiberga and the director of the Library of Alexandria, Ismail Serageldin. It was emphasized that the Nizami Ganjavi Center became an important international institution and was playing an important part in developing friendship and mutual understanding between peoples and states, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.Vike-Freiberga and Serageldin arrived in Baku for the upcoming III Global Shared Societies Forum, which will be open on April 28-30. The Forum will focus on discussions of ethnic conflicts, terrorism and democratic development.The Nizami Ganjavi Center and the Madrid Club organized the first and the second Forums in Baku in 2013 and 2014.The Nizami Ganjavi Center was formed by public and political figures in Ganja on September 30, 2012. The organization popularizes the Azerbaijani poet around the world.
