Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said that the Kiev authorities had invited him to take the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, but he refused.
"Of course I will return to Georgia to help my people. My career belongs to my people," Interfax cited him as saying.
According to him, the Ukrainian government has recently offered him a top position – Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine. "It would be a great honor for me. But in this case, I would have to take Ukrainian citizenship and renounce Georgian citizenship. But I did not. Because I believe that my country has a great future. I will build this future with my people," Saakashvili said.
However, he refused to comment on the situation with the Georgian Prosecutor General's appeal to Azerbaijan, demanding the extradition of the former president.
