Russian President Vladimir Putin told how his family remembered the events of the Great Patriotic War in an article published in Pioneer magazine.
He emphasizes that, despite all the horrors of war, they harbored no hate for the enemy.
Putin remembers the words of his mother. "My mother was a very kind, gentle person. She said 'How can you hate these soldiers? They were ordinary people who died in war too… How can you blame them? They were hard workers like us. It's just that they were sent to fight," he said, adding that he remembers these words from his childhood.
