Peace could soon return to the Syrian city of Homs.
Militants control several settlements, including the Vaara area in the north of the country to the city of Homs, one of the most important cities in Syria, located in the center of the country. According to the local governor, Talal al-Barazi, the militants might lay down their weapons in the near future.
‘’The negotiations on Vaara are going on. Over the last 3 months we have managed to achieve a positive tendency. We hope that in the near future the militants will lay their weapons down,’’ RIA cites him as saying.
According to al-Barazi, if that happens then the city will be fully liberated and all its parts will be returned under the control of the Syrian army.
