Putin toughens penalty for urging extremism in mass media

Putin has raised the penalty for urging extremism in the mass media.

According to a law signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the penalty will be raised for publishing calls for terrorist and extremist activities in the media.

Those who commit such an offense will have to pay a fine of about one million rubles.

The bill was approved by the State Duma and the Federation Council at the end of last month, Interfax reports.
