Exactly a year ago due to the conflict in the coastal city of Odessa the local House of Trade Unions was set on fire.48 activists were killed who opposed the policy of the Ukrainian authorities who came to power after Euromaidan.

The main ceremonies were held at the site of the tragedy in Odessa. All day people came to the former House of Trade Unions and brought flowers.

The event was held peacefully and without any incidents. The law enforcement bodies noted that the participants came without any political symbols. ‘’They had nothing. Neither flags, nor St. George ribbons. It was a non-political event,’’ RIA Novosti cites a law-enforcement source.

Victims of the tragedy that took place a year ago were remembered in Russia, commemorative events were held in many other cities.
 
‘’The largest of these events was held in Moscow. About a thousand people gathered in front of the Ukrainian embassy." During the event, an outdoor exhibition 'House of War' was arranged near the Embassy of Ukraine. It consisted of photographs of the House of Trade Unions after it was on fire. The participants of the event held posters reading: "Odessa – we remember’’, "Odessa, 05/02/14’’ , ‘’We will not forget, we will not forgive!’’, "No fascism!’’, "The victims of the tragedy in Odessa are not forgotten’’ and other posters," the organizers said.
