Ilham Aliyev: money allocated by ADB to benefit Azerbaijani people

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said at the 48th annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Baku that the money allocated from the ADB to Azerbaijan will go to benefit its people, as well as the economic and sustainable development of the country.


"The majority of our guests are visiting us for the first time, and I think it is a good opportunity to get to know Azerbaijan better, because as an independent country, it has only existed for a little over 23 years on the world map," the president stressed.


According to President Aliyev, Azerbaijan is famous for its ancient history, culture and traditions. "I am sure the guests will find time to visit our historic places, to learn more about our people, our past and the present of our country. Azerbaijan's geographic location definitely influenced the development of our nation," Trend cited him.


He also noted that Azerbaijan, for centuries had a multicultural society and is proud of its multicultural history. "We are strongly committed to the development of Azerbaijan as a modern, tolerant country, where representatives of all nationalities and religions live in peace and dignity," he said.

 

The president said that the recently created international center of multiculturalism is Azerbaijan's contribution to the development of positive tendencies in the world.
