Georgia will appoint honorary representatives of Georgian diasporas abroad on a competitive basis, the State Minister for Diaspora Affairs Papuna Davitaia announced today, referring to a decree of the Georgian President, Georgia Online reports.
According to Davitaia, honorary representatives will be appointed in Madrid and Barcelona, Brussels and Antwerp, Vienna, New York, Athens, Bari and London.
"The honorary members will support Georgian policies in the diasporas, and the development of economic, scientific, trade, tourist and cultural cooperation between Georgia and the Georgian diasporas, as well as promoting investment in Georgia," Davitaia said.
