Russia considers the attempts to rewrite history and justify Nazis and their collaborators are absolutely intolerable, President Vladimir Putin said in a message to participants in a conference on 'the Soviet and Chinese role in defeating German Nazism and Japanese militarism during the Second World War'.
"We see as absolutely unacceptable all cynical attempts to rewrite history and justify the Nazis and their collaborators to accommodate some people’s time-serving interests. Such attempts are immoral and extremely dangerous. They push the world towards new conflicts, brutality and violence," RIA Novosti cited the message as saying.
Vladimir Putin voiced confidence that the conference "would promote an honest vision of the wartime events, help immortalize the heroism of our fathers and grandfathers and raise the young generation in the spirit of patriotism, humanism and friendship”.
