Turkey calls Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant a world threat

Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz has called Armenia's Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant a threat to the world today, Trend reports.


The nuclear power plant was built in 1970. It was closed down after the Spitak Earthquake in 1988, only to reopen again in 1995, despite international protests. Moreover, the second reactor of the power plant was activated.
