CIS leaders to hold informal summit

The leaders of the CIS countries will hold an informal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin  today, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said.


President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmonov, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev confirmed their participation in the summit.


"The leaders will take stock of the large-scale joint work in the implementation of the plan to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War," TASS cited Ushakov as saying. He reminded that the document was adopted on 14 February 2014. The presidents will also discuss the implementation of the measures set for the 2015 Year of Veterans in the CIS.
