Western leaders’ decision not to join parade is their own choice, says Vladimir Putin

‘‘The matters of the current political situation are not so important in comparison to the fundamental things,’’ said Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the absence of the leaders of the anti-Hitler coalition at the anniversary of the Victory in Moscow.

‘‘In respect of the leaders, including the anti-Hitler coalition, it is their choice, and their decision. I think that the issues of the political situation are still not as important ad the fundamental nature of things related to the maintenance of global peace in order to prevent the recurrence of such accidents if we remember the catastrophe of the World War II," RIA Novosti cites Vladimir Putin.

He added that on the eve of the holiday reception he met with veterans who came from the USA, Great Britain, Poland and other countries.
