Leonid Slutsky: Russia worries about First European Games in Baku

 

Russia loves Azerbaijan and worries about the European Games in Baku, the head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, told Vestnik Kavkaza at a solemn event in Moscow dedicated to the 92nd anniversary of the birthday of the national leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev.Speaking about Russia's attitude to the upcoming European Games, he recalled the presentation of the competition in Moscow, which was held in early April. "I attended the presentation of the European Olympic Games, which was present by the great First Lady of Azerbaijan, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, member of the executive committee of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva. She addressed a memorable speech in literary Russian language," Leonid Slutsky said.According to the MP,  the First European games are "even more fulfilling." "These are the first European Games, and it is significant that the long discussion, the preparation of the European component of the global Olympic movement, is entering its practical dimension in Baku. I am sure that Baku will prepare for the Games systematically and professionally," he said."Despite the difficulties in today's European policy, from now Europe will always have European Games. I am sure that many of them we will meet in the capital of the European Olympic Games, Baku," the head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs concluded.
