Matviyenko says May 9 was well-celebrated despite absence of world leaders

 

The Chairwoman of Russia’s Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko, said after talks today with the President of the Serbian Parliament, Maja Gojkovic, that the 70th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was well-marked in Moscow, despite the absence of some invited world leaders, RIA Novosti reports.

In her words, the Immortal Regiment march in Moscow was a sign of willingness of countries to pay tribute to veterans.
