Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry stressed the importance of rejecting double standards with respect to the terrorist organization Islamic State.
"Particular attention was paid to the threats posed by the terrorist organization Islamic State, which has captured portions of Syria, Iraq and Libya," RIA Novosti cited the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"Lavrov once again stressed the importance of rejecting double standards with respect to terrorists. The officials considered the situation in Yemen, where external military involvement is exacerbating the internal armed conflict, which could have serious consequences for the entire region," the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website said.
The ministry added that the sides also discussed problematic aspects of the bilateral agenda and the arms control dialogue.
