Turkush President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during a press conference in Ankara that the perpetrators of the attack on a cargo ship off the coast of Libya will be revealed.
"We are following this issue especially with our foreign ministry. Hopefully we will reveal the perpetrators of this attack," RIA Novosti cited Erdogan as saying.
The ship arrived at Port Fethiye in Turkey’s southwestern province today. On board the attacked ship there was a crew of 15 people, 8 Turkish citizens, 6 Georgian citizens and one citizen of Azerbaijan.
On May 10, the Tuna-1 ship, sailing under the flag of the Cook Islands, was attacked in international waters as it was carrying a drywall cargo from Spain. According to the Libyan army, the Tuna-1 was targeted after it was told not to break a ban on approaching the eastern city of Derna, which is controlled by Islamic State militants.
