Czech Republic didn't allow Iran to buy compressors for nuclear research

The leaders of the Czech Republic blocked an attempted purchase by Iran of a large shipment of sensitive technology usable for nuclear enrichment.

According to a confidential report by UN experts, in January Iran attempted to buy compressors, which have nuclear and non-nuclear applications, made by the Howden CKD Compressors company, while providing false documentation to avoid sanctions restrictions.

"A Czech state official and a Western diplomat familiar with the case confirmed that Iran had attempted to buy the shipment from Howden CKD in the Czech Republic, and that Czech authorities had acted to block the deal," TASS cited Reuters agency.
