US to speed up shipments of weapons to Gulf Cooperation Council

Ben Rhodes, US deputy national security adviser for strategic communication, said that Washington was planning to speed up shipments of weapons to countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, RIA Novosti reports.

US President Barack Obama is holding a summit with countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council at his Camp David retreat. The president emphasized that the leaders of the countries were discussing missile defenses, maritime security, special operations, anti-terrorist operations, boundary protection.

Obama held negotiations with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Saudi Arabia at the White House in Washington yesterday. The Prince arrived instead of the invited King of Saudi Arabia.
