Georgia's former ruling party, the United National Movement, is going to organize a protest calling for the safe return of Mikheil Saakashvili to Georgia.
"We will do everything to ensure that Saakashvili is returned to Georgia. We will use all possible legal means," Sputnik-Georgia quotes a deputy from the National Movement, Davit Darchiashvili, as saying during an interview with the newspaper Akhali Taoba.
"In this situation, protest actions are a common thing… We will start an action," he stressed.
"Georgia is in a serious crisis. There are only two forces. One is the government's clan, led by (Bidzina) Ivanishvili (former prime minister of Georgia). They have dug into the government levers. The second force is the National Movement. People will make a choice between these two forces. Nobody will experiment by choosing a third force," the deputy said.
Darchiashvili is conscious of the fact that, on his arrival in Georgia, Saakashvili will be detained by law enforcement agencies.
"The security forces today ate carrying out a political order. In such a situation it is likely that in case of the return of Saakashvili he will be seized, which will further aggravate the situation," the MP says.
